Fascia can also go by the term ‘roofline’. The fascia is where the roof meets the outer wall, and runs along the lower edge of the roof. The fascia is the wood attached to the edge of the roof trusses. The fascia board caps the end of the rafters outside your building. For consistency, it might be a good idea to colour coordinate the fascia with the soffit.
The function of the fascia is twofold:
- It support the lower edge of the bottom row of shingles/tiles
- It supports all the guttering, or eavestroughs
Signs that it might be time to replace your fascia include moisture marks, damage to the structure, or simply deterioration from aging. The Denali Exteriors team of home improvement professionals can repair, install new siding boards or soffits, and do everything and anything in between to get your home’s exterior looking new again.
