Fascia can also go by the term ‘roofline’. The fascia is where the roof meets the outer wall, and runs along the lower edge of the roof. The fascia is the wood attached to the edge of the roof trusses. The fascia board caps the end of the rafters outside your building. For consistency, it might be a good idea to colour coordinate the fascia with the soffit.
The function of the fascia is twofold:
- It support the lower edge of the bottom row of shingles/tiles
- It supports all the guttering, or eavestroughs
